Disable Facebook Account - The Facebook Places security alternatives are set to "Friends Just" by default, however you can opt out of the service entirely.

To do so follow these simple guidelines:

1. Go to your Facebook account's "Privacy Settings."
2. Click "Customize settings" in the "Sharing on Facebook" area.
3. Under "Things I share" click the choice box beside "Include me in 'Individuals Here Now' after I check in." You have now disabled this function.

Another Places function may enable pals to share your place-- even if you are not currently there as well as if you have currently disabled self-check-in. Buddies using Places can examine you in or "tag" you at a certain location.

NOTE # - If you're checked-in on your own or by a friend, your presence at the location shows up to anybody that either you or your friend permits, based on your friend's and your privacy settings.

Your name will reveal up on the place's Places page, if there is one, so everybody at the place can see that you're there. If you are tagged by a buddy, your presence at the place is seen by your good friends or whoever they enable to see their posts, based on their (not your) privacy settings.

You should authorize a check-in request, but you are just provided 2 options: "Yes" and "Not Now.".

Again, there is a simple method to disable this function:.
1. Go to your Facebook account's "Privacy Settings.".
2. Click "Customize settings" in the "Sharing on Facebook" area.
3. Under "Things others share," find the alternative "Friends can check me into Places.".
4. Select "Disable" from the list of choices. You have now disabled this function.
