Check in to your Facebook account. Go to Settings > General > Edit, located next to Password.

Use a strong password for your Facebook account. Facebook advises a combination of a minimum of six characters including numbers, letters and punctuation marks.

If you cannot remember your password, click the "Forgot Your Password" link on the Facebook login screen. Follow the onscreen guidelines to identify your account and reset your password.

Your Facebook password is not the only point of entry for potential hackers. Anybody with access to the email address you use to log in to Facebook can reset your password and take control of your Facebook account. Facebook suggests changing your e-mail account password and utilizing different passwords for different accounts.
