Facebook introduced Lite in few Africa and Asia countries in early 2015 and from there the app was expanded to lots of other regions. Facebook Lite is light in size and doesn't consumes data like the main app. Apart from these, it also runs well on bad network and smoothly on 2G (GPRS/EDGE) connection. After it was released, lots of new functions were added amongst which is the capability to view video shared, posted, which show up on timeline. However, Facebook did not offer users the capability to download the video.
How To Save Facebook Videos To Phone
There's a catch though, we bet much of you would have observe it. You will notice that when you click on the video you desire to watch on Facebook Lite, the gamer will initially load for some seconds prior to the video start to play. You will also see that when the video stop playing and you go back possibly to your timeline, if you click the video once again it will not require time to fill like the very first time, it will simply play directly.
This offer us the sense that the video is being download (cache) somewhere when you play it the very first time and when you try to play it again it will just load from where it was cached. Finding where the video is cached is our response.

On Lite, Facebook usually reveals the size (in megabytes) of the video you are about to watch prior to you click on it as shown in the picture above. Take note of the megabyte since you are going to need it if you are getting this tutorial right. Now, lets proceed.
You are going to require the following apps, not essential but they will help.
1.) ES File Explorer
2.) MX Video Gamer
All videos enjoyed on Facebook Lite are download in a folder on the phone storage. We recommend you watch a video on Lite prior to you continue, this will develop the folder we will show you.
In our own case, we use ES File Explorer. You can utilize any file manager of your option.
1.) Open ES Explorer, locate a folder named "Android". In the "Android" folder you will see another folder named "information", open it. It will lead you to where is revealed in the above pic (We change the folder view to "Medium Details" under More -> View in ES UI). Amongst the folders, you will see one called "com.facebook.lite", open it.
2.) In the "com.facebook.lite" folder you will see "cache" folder, open it.
3.) In the "cache" folder, locate "video" folder and open it.
4.) In our own case, there are 4 different folders inside the "video" folder, in yours you may find more. However, it is essential to let you understand that each folder in the "video" folder represent each video you watch on Facebook Lite. As you can see, the folders are called in random letters that appears like jargons.
5.) Opening one of these video folders there are two files inside, one named "0000000000000000" and the other "metadata.json". All the folders shown in step 4 consists of just these 2 files. The "0000000000000000" file is the video we are looking for. All the 4 folders contains the "0000000000000000" video file and each file represent various video in each of the folder. Each folder is each video you watch on Facebook Lite.
6.) If you are using ES, simply click on the "0000000000000000" file to open then select video from the menu, pick a video gamer (or MX Gamer) and BOOMMM! the video will start playing. You can do also for other "0000000000000000" files in other video folders to see the cached Facebook Lite videos.
Please Keep in mind: The "0000000000000000" doesn't reveal as video file when view by file manager because it doesn't have a video extension (e.g.MP4, AVI e.t.c). Facebook do this so that video gamers installed will not have the ability to fetch it when scanning the phone. It's a security measure. You need to open it straight with a video player to be able to view as a video.
Each time you see a video on Facebook Lite, the video is cached (download) on the phone sd card. By following the actions above, you can rename the "00000000000000" which is the video file and see it offline permanently. You can even copy it to a different folder to keep save.
