How To Delete A Group From Facebook
For more basic details about utilizing Facebook, see my post on Facebook for organisation.
Why might I wish to delete a Facebook group?
The factor I wanted to do this is that I had a group based around a general election that there was no point keeping up with now. There are great deals of reasons you may wish to erase a group, however-- it may have got out of hand, you may not have time to run it, it may be time-dependent and out of date, like my one was.
If it's a matter of not having sufficient time, think about making another person the Admin for the group-- you can see how to do that later in this post, also.
Keep in mind, you do have to be the owner or administrator of the group to erase it.
How do I delete a Facebook group?
To delete a Facebook group, you have to eliminate all the members, then yourself. This makes the group disappear.
In your group, locate its Members area:
Click the Members link and here you are with your list of members:.
For each member, click the cog under the member's name and click Eliminate from Group. Keep in mind that this is where you can make them an Admin instead.
Facebook will ask you to validate.
Do this for each member of the group.
Last but not least, remove yourself from the group in the same method. You will get this confirmation message:.
This is the very same mistake message whether you're just leaving the group or you're the last to leave-- simply select Leave Group.
The group needs to now disappear. If it doesn't, your best bet is to contact Facebook. Click on the arrow marked here:.
and choose Report a Problem from the dropdown.
