Why would your "good friend" do this to you? Well, are they REALLY your friend? Are you SURE? Do they only "sorta" like you? Is it a relative? Yeah, there are any number of reasons that somebody would put you on the limited list. I'm sure you're wondering now why they left you as a buddy. Well, possibilities are they figured you're less most likely to observe being placed on the limited list than being unfriended entirely. Or possibly they want to snoop on you.
If it truly troubles you, ask the individual straight. If they are actually your good friend it wont be such a huge offer and being honest and direct is always an excellent plan when it pertains to speaking with your pals.
Want to add somebody to your restricted list? Well, from the menu on the left sidebar go down to the bottom where it states Lists. There might be list choices, click on the word Lists. (in the image to the right I have actually put a red box around where it can be found). From there you'll go to the lists menu, click the Restricted list and from that page you can include people.
Package on the best side of the screen is where you key in a friend's name and include them to the list. You can add as many individuals as you desire, they wont get any type of alert. And possibilities are, they wont notification unless they just have like 10 buddies overall and don't follow any pages or subscribe to any well-known individuals's feeds.
If you're truly paranoid about exactly what they can see, you can view your profile as that buddy and after that you'll see what they see. Depending on whether you've got the brand-new timeline feature there are two ways to do this. Both start by going to your profile page. Then, if you still have the old profile there's a button on top right that says "Deem ..." if you click the button you'll get a choice to type in any friend's name. Simply enter the friend you have actually put on the restricted list.
If you've got the brand-new Timeline it's a bit harder to find. It's still on the right, under your cover image, under the drop down where the gear lies. Same thing from there, type the good friend's name in the box and you'll be able to see exactly what they have access to. This works for ANY good friend by the method. If you're concerned about exactly what a particular buddy can see this is a great way to examine it out.
Bear in mind, if you have actually got your default setting for posts to Public everyone will see it ... everybody on the internet who can discover your profile. So if this concerns you, utilize that little fall beside the Post button when publishing an upgrade. You can also post things to individuals JUST on a specific list. So if you're posting something questionable and don't wish to upset Grandmother or begin a battle with your Tea Party good friends, make a list for only the individuals who will appreciate those things.
