How Do You Send A Direct Message On Instagram
To send your initial DM on Instagram, take a photo as you usually would. You can apply all the same filters to "DM photos" as you can with all other Instagram articles. When you prepare to send it directly to a person (or a group of people)-- faucet NEXT customarily.
From the Share to menu towards the top of the display, tap DIRECT (see # 1 in screenshot listed below). Now tap inside the Write a caption ... window, and also type out your message (see # 2 in screenshot listed below).
When you're done composing your message, tap OK.
Now scroll via your list of Instagram contacts and touch the circle beside their name so that an eco-friendly "check mark" shows up. KEEP IN MIND: you can choose greater than one recipient if you want to share a message or photo with a group of people.
When you prepare to send out the picture and message, faucet SEND TO (NAME).
When they open Instagram, they'll be presented with an alert on the "mailbox" icon as shown in the screenshot listed below.
Upon touching that mail box, they'll see that a brand-new message as been sent from you.
When they tap the message, it exists to them in the format illustrated listed below.
From here they can respond to your message.
If/when they do, you will have a notification symbol in your mail box.
The "blue bubble" (see screenshot) highlights that the image has been commented on (and also for how long earlier).
When you touch the 'response' in your mail box, you'll be be able to watch their action, as well as continue the 'conversation' if you 'd like.
