Facebook Banner Sizes

I had trouble finding precise pixel dimensions for facebook profile picture and banner sizes, so I believed it would be fun to create my own. And yes, that was a great deal of fun! What better thing to do on a Friday night? I miss out on the days of being a graphic designer.

The basic Facebook profile page and other pages are various, but not by much. The profile photo simply visits 17 pixels on company and fan pages, which can be a bit confusing if you do a google search for the real pixel dimensions. I found that in general, the dimensions weren't really precise and perhaps 'eye-balled' to get close enough. However for sticklers like myself, I merely can't handle unreliable pixel dimensions (blaarghh!).

Anybody on the webs can copy and paste information, but it is necessary that that details is accurate, otherwise incorrect information can spread out like wildfire. Not that facebook pixel dimensions are all that crucial, but if I can conserve someone a couple of minutes of head scratching, I'll be delighted.

The numbers in the diagram above are 100% accurate to the pixel level. I inspected and double examined them at 800% in Photoshop. The JPG file can be opened in Photoshop to see the perfectly lined up guides too, so do not hesitate to use that as a template. If the present Facebook page design changes, I'll look into upgrading the diagram.

Using Branding & Text On A Facebook Banner

Facebook utilizes aggressive compression energy which can deteriorate the picture quality even if you publish an extremely great image. Facebook does it for the sake of faster page loading. By doing this, even if you upload an exceptional quality image, the quality may get hindered in case of logos and text and the low quality image will make it look like fuzzy. To get around this problem, you can utilize PNG image files.
