How Do I Delete A Group I Created On Facebook
For more fundamental details about utilizing Facebook, see my article on Facebook for organisation.
Why might I wish to erase a Facebook group?
The reason I wished to do this is that I had actually a group based around a general election that there was no point keeping up with now. There are great deals of reasons why you might desire to delete a group, though-- it may have left hand, you might not have time to run it, it might be time-dependent and out of date, like my one was.
If it refers not having enough time, consider making someone else the Admin for the group-- you can see ways to do that in the future in this post, as well.
Note, you do have to be the owner or administrator of the group to erase it.
How do I erase a Facebook group?
To delete a Facebook group, you have to remove all of the members, then yourself. This makes the group go away.
In your group, find its Members area:
Click on the Members link and here you are with your list of members:.
For each member, click the cog under the member's name and click Eliminate from Group. Note that this is where you can make them an Admin rather.
Facebook will ask you to validate.
Do this for each member of the group.
Last but not least, eliminate yourself from the group in the very same method. You will get this verification message:.
This is the exact same error message whether you're simply leaving the group or you're the last to leave-- simply pick Leave Group.
The group must now disappear. If it does not, your best option is to get in touch with Facebook. Click the arrow marked here:.
and select Report an Issue from the dropdown.
